A Message From Deborah Chavez, EOP Director, NMPED Safe and Healthy Schools Bureau Mental Health Services Coordinator...
"The Expanding Opportunities Project (EOP) is a 5-year federally funded program with the goal of increasing the number and quality of school-based mental health (SBMH) providers in high-need schools through recruitment starting at the graduate level and retention of licensed professionals.
EOP is in its final year of the program. The program’s success has grown tremendously within these five years, to date, distributing 1,154 awards, totaling $3,264,964.09.
EOP continues to offer professional development and training opportunities through NMPED and partnering agencies to participants. For the program’s final colloquium, EOP will focus on providing two days of professional development, offering social work CEUs for some presentations.
The program itself as well as all the hardworking, dedicated participants have made a significant impact on the well-being of students throughout the state of New Mexico."
