Description

This presentation explores the relationship between emotional dysregulation and learning, highlighting how heightened emotional responses (such as anxiety, frustration, or withdrawal) can interfere with attention, memory, and classroom behavior. We will examine emotional regulation, discuss its effects on academic and social outcomes, and offer practical, trauma-informed strategies for educators to support students struggling with regulation and support their socio-emotional learning. By understanding the role of emotional development in learning, we can create safer, more responsive learning environments that promote both academic achievement and emotional well-being.
