Deborah Chavez is a master level social worker (MSW). For the past 15 years Deborah has worked in various educational roles including educational assistant, truancy coach, homeless liaison, youth mentorship program director, and academic enrichment coordinator. She worked for the New Mexico Department of Health for a short time before joining the New Mexico Public Education Department in February 2022. She currently serves as the Mental Health Services Coordinator and director for the Expanding Opportunities Project (EOP) with the Safe and Healthy Schools Bureau.
