Magdalena Soña Alaniz Saiz is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration. For the past 20+ years she has worked within educational settings as an educator, social worker, and administrator across elementary, middle school, high school, and higher education. Dr. Saiz currently serves as the Behavioral Health Manager for the New Mexico Public Education Department. In this role she supports schools and districts throughout the state with securing and implementing mental, social and emotional well-being efforts. In all of her work, she strives to create systems that demand socially just and equitable practices for all students, families, and those who serve in educational settings throughout New Mexico.
